KEYNOTE: OUR FUTURE SOCIETY: THE REALITY OF CYBERSECURITY

The global cost of cybercrime is $600 billion annually, or 0.8% of global GDP (CSIS 2017). Cybercrime has demonstrated the undermining of democracy, the immense financial impact of espionage, intellectual property theft, and digital extortion and is an existential threat to each of us. This presentation explores the importance of digital trust within our evolving digital landscape, and recognising the role of cybersecurity as the foundation for innovation as opposed to the afterthought it is today.
