KEYNOTE: DOCTORS WHO WORK IN PERIL: HOW TO BUILD SOMETHING FROM NOTHING
On April 2017 millions of protestors around the whole country got to the streets seeking a definite change and combating our outrageous mortality rates. At that time, a group of medical students decided to get in the frontline of the conflict and founded the Green Helmets Venezuela to give medical assistance to hundreds of people that resulted injured by rubber bullets, impacts of tear gas bombs and even real gun bullets. The first day we were 4 people, today we have constructed an organization with more than 250 volunteers and 12 teams around the country. We were on the streets for the 4 months that the protests went on and assisted more than 5000 people, saved the lives of the most critical patients. She shares with us her story of how to build a life-changing organisation from nothing and how to maintain resilience in the toughest times.
