Dr. Laura Sophie Dornheim holds a diploma in business informatics and gained a PhD. for her research on women in leadership positions.She has almost 20 years experience working with different digital businesses, starting with a large German publishing house, working on their magazine websites. Attempting to sell online ads like print ads was problematic from the very beginning. Partly due to this, bad and annoying ads are ubiquitous on the internet. When eyeo, the company behind Adblock Plus, approached her in 2015 to become their Head of Communications, she didn’t hesitate. She advocates for sustainable ad blocking as a user's right, while allowing publishers to monetize their content with decent, relevant ads.
