What if I'm interested in more than one opportunity?
That's awesome! Unbound wants to support ambitious emerging and scaling businesses as much as possible. That's why, when you apply, you can specify multiple opportunities of interest. However, if you apply for a corporate sponsored activity, this might limit your ability to participate or be considered for opportunities such as the Unbound50. If you're unsure, don't hesitate to get in touch.
I've made my application, what's next?
Thanks for your application. We don't currently send a confirmation of your application, if you're unsure it has been submitted please don't hesitate to get in touch. We review all applications periodically before applications close. If we like the look of your application, we'll get in touch to let you know you've been selected and set up a call.
Will I hear from you if I'm unsuccessful?
Unfortunately we don't currently get in touch with unsuccessful applicants.
Can you help us secure visas?
In certain instances we may offer invitations to aid your visa, but this is not something we will actively provide and certainly not as a guarantee.
Can you help with travel and accommodation?
The arrangement of travel and accommodation isn't something we can help with. Certain opportunities might allow us to provide a stipend towards travel and accommodation, but only when this is clearly advertised. In instance that it is, you will have to incur the expense yourself and then submit your invoice and receipts to us as evidence.
What are the selection criteria?
For Unbound 50, we select businesses based on your application and any additional information relating to your application such as websites. The Startup Ecosystem team will review you application based on the following, basic criteria: Your team has a clear ability to deliver (market experience, technical ability, etc.). The market problem your business is addressing is compelling while demonstrating a clear market opportunity. You give evidence of traction indicators, whether financial or other (e.g. subscribers, waiting list, letters of interest etc.) and your application indicates a considered business model, finally we want to be sure your business suggests a unique idea with a clear value proposition.
How are businesses selected?
The Startup Ecosystem team will review all applications periodically before the deadline. Applications will be judged against the basic selection criteria.
Is it completely free if my business is selected?
For the Unbound 50, most costs are covered by Unbound. Each member of the Unbound50 will be featured on the Unbound website and in the festival brochure. Selected businesses will receive a 1m x 1m booth to exhibit (worth £750). All Unbound50 businesses receive 4 free tickets to Unbound London (worth £450 per ticket). Each business will also be invited to join the Unbound50 global network and be kept up to date on future opportunities. However, each business will be responsible for their own travel, accommodation and subsistence while attending the event.
When can I set up?
The Startup Ecosystem team will confirm when you will be onsite to set up before the event. This will be before the main venue opens and those arriving late may be subject to a 'no show fee'.
What happens if I can't make it on the day?
Please let us know as soon as possible if you are no longer able to attend an Unbound event. These opportunities are limited and we do not want others to miss out. Equally, if you cancel within 24 hrs of the event beginning you will be subject to the 'no show fee'.
Do we always have to be at our stand?
We ask that all emerging businesses exhibiting at Unbound are present and at their stand throughout the event. To help manage this expectation, we supply each business multiple free delegate passes to ensure you're able to share the responsibility and make the most of the event.
What's included if I'm selected?

What if I'm interested in other opportunities, such as a corporate sponsor's startup battle?
If you apply for any corporate sponsored activities, such as startup battles or hackathons, we will not consider your application to the Unbound50, Pitch to Investors or the Female Founders Challenge until a decision has been made on your involvement in that activity.
