Ms. Dalad is the Vice President, Former Head of Strategy and M&A for Walmart Asia – overseeing the articulation of Walmart Asia’s regional strategic ambitions, and the execution of corporate M&A strategy across China, Japan and India.
Ms. Dalad joined Walmart Asia in August 2017 from an extensive former career in private equity as VP & Head of portfolio management at Crescent Point Group and as part of the leadership team at Bain & Company.
As head of portfolio management at Crescent Point, Ms. Dalad led the installation of a portfolio activism approach for the fund’s portfolio companies in Asia-Pacific. In this role, Ms. Dalad focused on sharp identification of key portfolio issues, guiding management teams towards needle-moving strategic initiatives to deliver change that creates value whilst balancing strategy, translating interests between the fund, shareholders and the portfolio.
Ms. Dalad began her career at Bain & Company, where she was a member of Bain’s consumer products and retail, and private equity practice areas in Asia-Pacific, UK and the Middle East. She has deep experiences in channel strategy, salesforce effectiveness and growth/performance improvement from advising Global MNCs, Sovereign Wealth and Private Equity Funds and local/regional firms working on long-term and multi-market engagements across dairy, food & beverage, agri-business and financial services sectors.
Having led and implemented multiple change management, transformation, performance improvement and post-investment value creation programs – she is resilient and experienced in working with C-Level, Board of directors, middle management, country managers and commercial teams; as well as engaging and developing an understanding of the front-line across complex organizations and situations.
A global citizen, Ms. Dalad has over a decade of international experiences living and working across Asia-Pacific, UK, Middle East and Greater China. A certified yoga instructor, Ms. Dalad is fluent in English, Thai and Mandarin Chinese. Ms. Dalad holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Thammasat University and attended the Graduate School at the London School of Economics and Political Science where she read public policy and administration.
