As a respected digital thought leader in the Australian VR community, Tietzel serves as the Kaleidoscope Australia Community Director, is the organiser running the Sydney VR Meetup Ground and is a founding member of the AVRN (Australian Virtual Reality Network).
Tietzel is an expert on bringing cutting-edge creative concepts to market, demonstrated by his time as the original Creative Director for MassMedia Studios, building an awardwinning creative team and leading the creative and strategy for clients including Audi, Virgin Australia, Sydney Festival, Foxtel, Vue cinemas and other renowned clients. Tietzel was instrumental to the creation of popular SaaS marketing automation platform Traction, driving product development, digital marketing innovation features and user experience.
Tietzel also spent five years as Co-Founder, Creative & Marketing Director of Fotomerchant.com, building the brand from the ground up to become the most powerful photography sales engine on the planet. Under his leadership, the platform experienced 30% month-on-month growth and is rated among the top five best photography website builders.
Amongst his many roles, Tietzel has managed creative, interactive, television and narrative projects for Channel 4, Film Four, Lego, BBC, Sony, Telstra, Optus, SBS and Endemol. Tietzel has managed the development of mobile apps, web applications, and SaaS products for Fotomerchant, Meeco and The App Village. He spearheaded Australia’s first live multi-cam online video stream, pioneered transmedia content delivery with the online interactive murder mystery “Two Minutes,” and successfully doubled website traffic to the Big Brother website using a community-driven in-app Trading Card game.
