Poh Kam Wong
Prof Wong obtained two BSc.’s, an MSc. and a Ph.D. from MIT, and teaches entrepreneurship and innovation strategy at the NUS Business School. He has published extensively in leading international refereed journals on entrepreneurship and innovation, and has also consulted widely for international agencies including the World Bank, OECD and Asian Development Bank, various government agencies in Singapore, and many private corporations in Asia Prof Wong concurrently serves as Senior Director of the NUS Entrepreneurship Centre and Acting Director of the NUS Overseas Colleges programme (NOC) to spearhead the university’s experiential entrepreneurship education programmes. He has developed numerous initiatives, including the NOC Program, the annual StartUp@Singapore business plan competition, the annual DBS-NUS Social Venture Challenge Asia, and the Lean Launchpad Singapore programme. An entrepreneur who co-founded three companies prior to joining academia, Professor Wong is an active angel investor and was the founding chairman of the Business Angel Network (Southeast Asia). He received the Public Administration Medal (Silver) Award from the Singapore Government in 2013 for his contribution to education in Singapore, and the “Entrepreneur for the World” Award (Education Category) from the World Entrepreneurship Forum in 2015. He is currently a board member of the Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS), and the co-curator of the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s Transformation Map on Entrepreneurship.
