Satoru Mizoguchi

Senior Vice President of Research and Development Asis & Oceania, Nissan

Mizoguchi is the current Senior Vice President of Research and Development in Asia & Oceania (A&O) for Nissan. He is responsible for all processes relating to new car development, localization, cost reduction, quality enhancement and market research. With a team of 250 in Thailand and 60 in Indonesia, the impact of his work spans across 93 countries as he oversees all Completely Built Up cars manufactured in the seven plants within ASEAN.

Mizoguchi-san joined Nissan in 1988 and has extensive experience across body engineering, vehicle planning and project management. Prior to being appointed the Senior Vice President of Research and Development, he was the Vice President of Vehicle Project Management and played an integral role in shaping a range of Nissan’s key products such as the Sunny, LEAF, March, Almera and Kicks.

Key accomplishments during his time in Nissan include leading the project management and vehicle planning fronts for the launch of the LEAF, and overseeing the development of Kicks.

Mizoguchi-san holds a Bachelors in Mechanical engineering from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.

He enjoys sports such as tennis and golf and has a keen interest in learning about history.
