unbound has been named ‘Best Trade Conference Organiser’ for innovfest unbound 2016 at the Singapore Tourism Board Awards. The awards recognise the organisations and individuals that have offered the most compelling experiences for visitors and are sector leaders in terms of best practice.
innovfest unbound is presented by unbound and NUS Enterprise and is organised in partnership with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The two-day technology festival closes Singapore’s Smart Nation Innovations week and was developed as a hub for innovation in Southeast Asia. It brings together entrepreneurs, investors and corporates from over 50 countries to foster collaboration in a friendly setting. The show has been running for three years and has doubled in size each year, it grew from around 6,000 delegates in 2016 to over 11,000 this year to become the single largest tech event in the region.
The Singapore Tourism Board Awards were judged by a panel of over 40 sector experts from Singapore and overseas. In a highly competitive category, innovfest unbound 2016 was singled out for its use of technology and social media platforms to engage delegates, as well as for its impressive speaker line-up. The presentation ceremony was held at the prestigious Shangri-La Hotel and attended by Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry, S. Iswaran.
Daniel Seal, founder & CEO of unbound Global, says: “May 4th was an auspicious date for unbound. We travelled direct from the closing remarks of innovfest unbound 2017, our biggest and most successful event to date, to pick up the award for the previous year’s show! We’re hugely proud of what we’ve achieved in just three years, innovfest isn’t just ‘another’ tech show, it’s a significant date in Southeast Asia’s annual technology calendar. This was made apparent by the fact that the Singaporean government used this’s year’s event to set out the roadmap for its Smart Nation plans.
“There’s little doubt that global economic growth is undergoing a shift from West to East, yet very few Western businesses are able to crack that market. Though innovest, we have been able to show what can be achieved with the right strategy and, crucially, the right partnerships in place.”
innovfest unbound will return to Singapore in 2018. unbound London, the next festival in the global series, which takes place on 19th and 20th July, this is followed by the inaugural unbound Miami on 1st & 2nd November.
